Lorca in a Green Dress by Nilo Cruz is a magical-realist play set in the moments following Federico García Lorca’s death in 1936. Lorca enters a symbolic limbo known as the “Lorca Room,” where he encounters multiple versions of himself. Through these fragmented reflections, he revisits memories and emotions that guide him toward acceptance.
The play explores Lorca’s inner world and psychological landscape, focusing on themes of identity, loss, and ultimately the choice to let go. It is a poetic meditation on accepting circumstance, self, and death.
